Mela Coffee Roasting Company, established in 2007, is a specialty coffee roaster located in the beautiful Wenatchee Valley at the foot of the Cascade Mountains along the shore of the Columbia River. As a third wave micro-roaster, they exclusively roast specialty coffees that score better than 80 on the SCAA's 100-point scale, which represents only approximately 5% of the world's coffee production. The company takes pride in mastering the arts of coffee roasting and brewing to draw out the best flavors hidden in each coffee origin. They develop detailed roast profiles for each coffee and roast in small batches to ensure quality. Their commitment extends beyond roasting to supporting their wholesale customers' coffee programs, striving to deliver excellent coffee in every final cup. Operating from their new and improved coffee roasting facility at 3 Orondo Avenue in Wenatchee, Mela Coffee serves as their lab and R&D space where they may roast a coffee up to fifty different ways to find the optimal flavors in each specific lot. The facility hosts public cupping events to help coffee enthusiasts expand their appreciation for specialty coffee. Since opening their downtown Wenatchee café at 17 North Wenatchee Avenue, Mela Coffee has been dedicated to serving the best possible espresso and coffee. Their café has become a downtown hot spot for locals and visitors alike, featuring not only exceptional coffee but also house-made pastries, breakfast, and lunch options. The café walls feature rotating exhibitions of local art monthly, strengthening their community connections. Mela Coffee offers comprehensive services including wholesale coffee programs, barista training, café design consultation, and equipment consulting and repair. They ship their freshly roasted coffee within 2 days of roast date on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
