Wilson Coffee Roasting is Costa Mesa's original organic roaster with deep roots in California's coffee culture. The business traces its origins to the early 1980s when Patti Spooner and Tony Wilson established Alta Coffee Warehouse and Roasting Company in Newport Beach, naming it after Patti's mother, Alta Dooley. This pioneering coffee house, which began roasting in 1984, was one of the second coffeehouses in the area and became known for its commitment to sustainability and organic practices. In 2011, Jim and Darla Schwartz took over the Wilson Coffee Roasting torch, carrying on the family's dedication to honest, organic coffee and sustainable practices. They view their business not as a pursuit of monetary wealth, but as a mission to spread health and wellness through quality coffee and tea. The company maintains its commitment to organic farming, fair-trade consumerism, and environmental sustainability.
