Wasatch Roasting Company was founded in 2016 by Darren and Tonya Blackford, inspired by an unforgettable experience during a family vacation to Costa Rica. While visiting the hills of Santa Teresa, the couple was enchanted by the smells and tastes from a local coffee roaster's humble store. Upon returning home with as much coffee as could fit in their suitcases, the Blackfords set out to replicate the magic they had experienced in Costa Rica. After months of dedicated reading, learning, and practicing their craft, Wasatch Roasting Company was born in the early months of 2016. The company began in the Blackford's garage and has since expanded into a beautiful shop in downtown Ogden, Utah, where they proudly roast and brew their coffee for everyone to enjoy. Located on Grant Avenue, just off of Historic 25th Avenue and next door to the Copper Nickel, their shop offers customers the opportunity to step into the back and talk to their roaster or simply sit and enjoy the heavenly scent of freshly roasted coffee. Wasatch Roasting Company is dedicated to craft roasted coffee brewed and served to a higher standard. Their specialty grade coffee beans are roasted in-house and brewed using a variety of different methods to bring out the best flavors and body of their fresh coffees. With specialty grade coffee beans sourced straight from the farms, they bring a truly unique multi-sensory experience into the heart of Ogden. Community involvement is a fundamental principle for Wasatch Roasting Company. They strive to be as involved as possible in their local community, with everything in their store crafted by local artists and artisans. The company features a new artist each month on their walls as part of the Ogden Art Stroll and has opened an Aerosol Art Gallery on their outdoor patio area. They actively participate in the Ogden Farmers Market, the Twilight Concert Series, and numerous other community events on a regular basis. For them, "Buy Local" is more than a slogan—it's a way of life. The roastery offers comprehensive event services, including cambro coffees, coffee truck for hire, and espresso bar services for special occasions. They maintain consistent operating hours seven days a week, opening at 6:00 AM Monday through Saturday and closing at 6:00 PM Monday through Saturday, with Sunday hours from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Their commitment extends beyond just serving excellent coffee to creating a refreshing experience that brightens customers' days, welcoming anyone who loves coffee, art, or simply wants good conversation over a quality cup of coffee.
