PT's Coffee

Topeka, KS

PT's Coffee is an award-winning specialty coffee roaster that has been pioneering excellence in coffee since 1993. Founded in Topeka, Kansas, by Fred Polzin and Jeff Taylor out of their simple desire for an excellent cup of coffee, PT's has grown from a small local cafe into an internationally recognized coffee roasting company while maintaining its commitment to superior quality and craftsmanship. The company is distinguished as one of the first coffee roasters to establish a Direct Trade program, which now accounts for nearly 80% of their coffee production. This pioneering approach focuses on building exceptional partnerships with socially responsible and environmentally conscious coffee farmers throughout Latin America, ensuring that exceptional quality flows from seed to cup while providing fair compensation to growers. PT's operates with a fundamental philosophy guided by one simple question: "Is our coffee the best it can be?" This commitment to excellence has earned them numerous accolades, including being named Roaster of the Year by Roast Magazine in 2009, achieving Coffee Review's #1 Coffee of 2022 designation, and earning multiple Good Food Awards. They maintain more than 50 ratings of 94+ points from Coffee Review and have received recognition from industry publications including Gear Patrol's "25 Best Coffee Roasters in America" and Food & Wine's "Best Coffee Roaster in Every State." The company roasts dozens of single-origin coffees and signature blends to order five days per week, shipping the same day to ensure maximum freshness. Their operations serve retail locations, wholesale clients nationwide, and online customers, with their roasting facility located in Topeka and three cafes operating in Topeka and Kansas City. PT's demonstrates strong community involvement through their "Coffees for a Cause" program and maintains dedication to sustainable practices through their Direct Trade partnerships. Their wholesale operation supplies fine cafes, restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, corporate offices, and small businesses nationwide, while their retail presence includes both physical locations and a comprehensive online platform with subscription services. The company's journey includes significant milestones such as acquiring Bird Rock Coffee Roasters in 2017, continuous recognition in industry competitions, and maintaining their position as leaders in the specialty coffee industry. PT's remains committed to sourcing, roasting, and serving the best coffees in the world while fostering lifelong relationships with both their farming partners and customers.
