Lucky's Coffee Roasters officially opened their first location on June 13th, 2019, in the heart of Downtown Upland, California. Founded with the vision of progressing forward in the coffee industry, Lucky's has quickly established itself as a specialty coffee roaster with a unique community-focused approach. Within just two years and despite a pandemic, the company expanded to include two more locations and their dedicated roasting facility in Claremont. The company operates under the philosophy of aiming for "community not competition," working collaboratively with local roasters who are also their friends to create a healthier coffee community that supports one another. They believe in the concept that while they compete with each other, without mutual support, customers wouldn't go on coffee crawls or explore different coffee experiences, making everyone stronger together. Lucky's is committed to transparency and communication within their cafes and staff, creating spaces that both employees and customers can genuinely enjoy. Their mission centers on introducing the broader community to the specialty coffee world they know and love, rather than catering only to niche coffee enthusiasts. They achieve this by sourcing great coffees across their entire range, from single origins to everyday blends. The company sources coffee through personal contacts and trusted importers, profiling each coffee to the optimal roast level that showcases its unique characteristics. They have been recognized for their award-winning blends and offer a diverse selection including single origins from Ethiopia, Brazil, Nicaragua, and Colombia, as well as their signature blends like Lucky Blend, Cup of Joe, and WildHare. Lucky's Coffee Roasters operates from a historic building in downtown Upland that was originally constructed in the 1940s as office space for citrus growers for the Sunkist corporation. The company transformed this space by removing walls, installing garage doors with outdoor patio seating, and exposing original concrete floors to preserve the building's history while creating a modern coffee experience. The company strives not just for freshness or good coffee, but for quality coffee and exceptional service. From their carefully selected coffee offerings to the creative concoctions their baristas develop, everything is held to the standard of what they themselves would enjoy.
