Founded by Rick and Kris Roberts while they were running a fireworks stand in a Eureka parking lot, the company started as the first drive-through coffee spot in the county. The original location only lasted two years due to lease constraints, but their incredibly loyal customer base followed them to their new location, demonstrating the strong community connection that defines the company. The company began roasting their own coffee beans in 2003, expanding their operations beyond just serving coffee to creating their own signature blends and roasts. What started as a single drive-through location has grown to encompass six locations throughout Humboldt County, including three in Eureka, two in the Arcata area, and one in Fortuna. Their coffee now reaches customers as far away as Florida through wholesale distribution.
