This Colombian coffee comes from the fascinating mountain region of Nariño in Southwest Colombia, characterized by mighty volcanoes and canyons. It's produced by Alejandro Ahumado, who grows 100% Castillo varietal across his 15-hectare farm at 1800 meters above sea level. Ahumado is a proud member of the unique "Million Pesos" program that pays producers double the price for high-quality coffees scoring above 90 points. The coffee undergoes wet mill processing and is dried in a parabolic drier. Medium-bodied with an intense lemon and lime flavor profile, this coffee features maple-brown sugar, sweet and nutty notes that culminate in a smooth mouthfeel. It's particularly notable for its soft, mild cup, acidic flavor, sweetness, and full rich aroma.
