Inspired by the spirit of the first U.S. gold rush in Reed Creek, North Carolina, Black Powder Coffee signifies hard work and rewarding outcomes. Their meticulously crafted roast profiles create a harmonious blend that leaves a sweet, creamy taste with a dry finish, reminiscent of artisanal innovations like bourbon and cognac infusions. And indeed, ground coffee beans result in something akin to black powder!

Black Powder Coffee was born out of a global coffee-tasting journey and the founders' belief in the potential for superior quality in their local market. After over two years of refining their craft at home, the family-owned coffee roasters set up shop in Mooresville, North Carolina, in April 2014. Their mission? To bring top-quality coffee to their community.

The coffee beans sourced by Black Powder Coffee are only of the SHB (super hard beans) grade, found in high-altitude farms and known for their distinct, maximum flavors. Their careful roasting process extracts the utmost flavor from these single-origin beans, occasionally mixing origins to form an artist's palette of flavors in their delightful blends. To maintain consistent roast profiles, they incorporated Artisan software through a Raspberry Pi system in 2016.

Never settling for less, Black Powder Coffee created their signature cold-brewed coffee concentrate after finding the iced coffee offerings at popular coffee shops lacking. Their cold brew product boasts a creamy texture, a dry finish, and a taste that rivals world-class brews. It's perfect for iced coffee, culinary creations, or mixed drinks.

Black Powder Coffee is the proud accomplishment of the Stahlman family of four from Mooresville, North Carolina. Led by Melissa Stahlman, CEO & President, and supported by Dave Stahlman, Roaster, the business operates under the values of hard work, quality, and community involvement. Both Melissa and Dave are active volunteers in their community, while also bringing their respective corporate and marketing expertise to the coffee roasting business. Black Powder Roasting Company takes pride in being a self-certified Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) as per the Small Business Administration process.
